Description: 4 members appointed by Roanoke Rapids City Council; 4 members appointed by Weldon Town Board and 1 member appointed by Halifax County Commissioners.  Commission’s primary purpose is to promote the development and to maintain the natural beauty and historic area which is part of the old Roanoke Navigation Company Canal in Halifax County, North Carolina.
